my wild life connect
helping children to connect their
wellbeing to nature, online

At Wild for Life, we are super excited to be announce that our hugely popular ‘curriculum in a kit’ programme, My Wild Life, is now available as a virtual course – MY WILD LIFE CONNECT!
Registration is now OPEN for our next online course starting Thursday, 5th June!

My Wild Life Connect follows the same premise as our standard ‘face to face’ My Wild Life programme, however instead of being facilitated in an educational environment by teaching staff, or at home by a parent or carer, it is delivered online by our experienced coaches in small virtual group sessions.

Over the course of six weekly one hour online sessions, children will be guided through an engaging, creative and interactive curriculum which aims to support their social and emotional development and their awareness of the natural world around them.

Aimed at children aged 7-12 years old, who are educated in a home setting or are currently not attending school, our exciting and progressive BESA-approved learning programme consists of six engaging and nature-inspired modules that focus on developing personal awareness, self-belief, new skills and coping strategies around themes of Change, Respect, Strength, Confidence, Friendship and Hope.  Each module within the programme provides children with stimulating, sensory and imaginative resources, workbooks and self-reflection tools. The programme also encourages children to connect with nature and the outdoors.

Taking part in the MY WILD LIFE CONNECT programme not only supports the education and development of your child, it also offers parents and carers with a cost effective and time saving solution, taking the pressure off home-learning and support. Our experienced coaches or tutors are ex-teaching staff, work with children with Special Education Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health conditions and trained in outdoor learning practices, therefore have the skills and knowledge to lead engaging and therapeutic sessions with children. Using the Connect programme rather than the standard My Wild Life programme enables parents to hand over the majority of the support elements of the programme to a trusted professional who is trained to enable your child to gain the most benefit from the kits.

What's more, it ticks many boxes for parents and carers:

  • It covers elements of the PSHE, science, geography and arts curriculum

  • It encourages your child to build confidence in their skills, to reflect on their emotions and to make friends

  • It can also be used as an early intervention tool to support your child’s social and emotional wellbeing, their EHCP or EOTAS funding, or as a tool to transition them back into a school environment, for instance.

Who is it for?

FOR HOME SCHOOLERS / FLEXI-SCHOOLERS

My Wild Life Connect is the perfect way to ensure that your child takes time out from more structured academic studies to focus on personal development and socialisation – a key focus of the national curriculum and important to allow your child to thrive in all environments.  a fantastic way for home schooled children to explore their feelings, strengths and awareness of themselves and the world around them whilst connecting with other children in a supportive and nurturing environment.

FOR CHILDREN WITH SEND, SEMH and EBSA, EDUCATED OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL

The programme is particularly beneficial for use with children who struggle to regulate their emotions or are facing huge personal challenges, which often leads to complex behaviours, poor mental health and disengagement from education. The My Wild Life programme can provide them with a platform, or an early intervention tool, which will enable them to become more self-aware and self-assured, and feel prepared to engage positively with education and the world around them.  This is a perfect solution for those children who receive EOTAS funding as a part of their EHCP.

FOR CHILDREN CURRENTLY NOT ENGAGING IN EDUCATION

Our programme can we a great way to encourage children to re-engage with learning or as a transitional tool to support their journey back into a school environment. The course gently encourages them to explore their feelings and emotions, providing them with the confidence and awareness which will help them to succeed in new settings, and reinvigorate their desire to discover and learn.
