discovering nature's classroom
We will bring taking nature and exposure to it into your school through our outreach projects.
By creating a safe outdoor learning space our pop up “den” and resources will feel different to being in school and more like being in the “great outdoors”
We will work with the most vulnerable learners to engage and inspire them to use the natural world to learn from and to engage with.
We will use a nurturing approach to deliver learning by focussed activities linked to emotions to support children from Reception, KS1 and KS2 to better understand how they can regulate their feelings. We use nature and the world around us to deliver and encourage this ethos.
Our aim is to support children in school, at home and in their life beyond the classroom.
Working in schools, alongside teachers and using green spaces that are available, we hope to
inspire a creative curriculum that forms part of a sustainable culture across the school.
Our approach directly links to the PSHE curriculum and SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural) development document encouraged by Ofsted.
Our Values Based Principles cover all three mandatory strands of PSHE (health and wellbeing, relationships and living in the wider world) but in particular the Health Education and Relationships Education that all schools need to deliver by 2020.
We will produce evidence that quantifies impact and can be used to demonstrate progress.
Our learning is transferable into the broader curriculum and by working closely with teachers and schools we expect to see improvements in confidence, self awareness, resilience and communication – and that’s just for starters!
