Action for Children have released a new report detailing the devastating impact that Covid is having on the mental health of parents, carers and children across the UK.

The survey carried out by YouGov reveals some shocking statistics that highlight just how much these troubling times are causing children's mental health to worsen. Notable statistics show that:

Half of children (49%) are reporting anxiety

More than a third (38%) were scared of getting ill or dying

A third (33%) were feeling lonely
-
A quarter of children (26%) felt angry
-
One in five (22%) parents reported them having mood swings or panic attacks

And more than one in eight (13%) children were suffering nightmares
